Spring Break in Disney! What to Wear in the Parks
As Disney adults, my brother and I decided to plan a trip during my spring break for us and our parents to travel to Disney. It was our first real family vacation (trips to competition for skating don’t count) and my parents’ first time to Disney. Here are all the outfit deets and more!
Where we stayed: Pop Century
We always choose one of the value resorts because 1) we are only at the hotel to get ready and sleep, 2) it gives us booking advantages because we are on Disney property, and 3) it feels like home now.
Day 1: Magic Kingdom
Because our parents haven’t been to Disney World we wanted to start with a bang by taking them down Main Street and seeing the castle on the first day there. I was excited to see the joy on their faces as they experienced the magic of Disney!
To capture these special moments, we booked a photographer. Luckily, our time was in the 9:00 a.m. hour so I didn’t have to worry about keeping my hair and makeup in place for too long before the photos were taken. We absolutely loved how they turned out.
What I Wore:
- Lilly Pulitzer blouse
- Express white jeans
- Gucci belt
- Sperry sandals
- Shop Disney ears
- Silver glittery magic band
- Lilly Pulitzer crossbody
Where We Ate:
- Gaston’s Tavern: coffee and a massive cinnamon bun
- Sleepy Hollow: corn dogs and chips
- Liberty Tree Tavern: “Thanksgiving Dinner” family style [I need the Declaration salad dressing recipe!]
After awesome food, parades, rides, and snacks, we stood at the end of Main Street to watch the fireworks. It was chilly at night, so this was a perfect opportunity to grab a souvenir hoodie and end the night with warm fuzzies inside and out.
Day 2: Epcot
Bright and early, we rode The Skyliner to Epcot. We chose Epcot for Day 2 because there aren’t as many rides to go on, especially ones that my parents would ride (side note – I rode Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time this trip and I immediately want to ride it again!). So we thought this would be a good rest day. Well, what we didn’t factor in is all the walking at Epcot. If we re-did this trip, we would have Day 2 dedicated to a pool day or short jaunt to Disney Springs.
A lot of characters were out at Epcot: Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Belle, Minnie, and more. Dad enjoyed the music at the pavilion and we got great pictures with the garden displays.
What I Wore:
- Lilly Pulitzer dress
- Sperry sandals
- Versace sunglasses
- Silver glittery magic band
- Lilly Pulitzer crossbody
Where We Ate:
- Germany: potato pancake with sour cream
- Food Court: chicken teriyaki (I would not recommend this – it tasted more like a microwave meal, but we needed to eat somewhere close)
- Chefs de France: Prix Fixe Menu – goat cheese salad, steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, red wine, chocolate dessert
After eating dinner, we stepped out in front of the restaurant for a great view of the Harmonious show. I love hearing Disney songs in different languages. My favorite parts are Africa and India!
Day 3: Hollywood Studios
When going to Hollywood Studios, it has become a tradition to ride Tower of Terror first and then grab a coffee. While the ride isn’t my parents’ cup of tea, my brother and I started our day there. The crowd was very low – we rode the Tower of Terror with only two other people!
We were excited for what was to come: my dad’s first time experiencing all the Star Wars rides (he is a big fan and this did not disappoint). We also met Olaf, Chewbacca, watched the Indiana Jones show, and the live action Beauty and the Beast (my mom’s favorite experience there).
What I Wore:
- Mandolorian t-shirt
- Levis black jean shorts
- Gucci belt
- Shop Disney ears
- Sperry sandals
- Silver glittery magic band
- Lilly Pulitzer crossbody
Where We Ate:
- Joffrey’s: latte
- Starbucks: chocolate croissant
- Dockside Diner: hot dog and chips
- Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano: Caesar salad, chicken parm, and wine (This was part of the dinner and show package, which I highly recommend!)
We ended the night with Fantasmic! We all agreed this was our favorite nighttime show. We had excellent seats because of the dinner package – we could even feel some splashes of water!
